Of course this comic could go in dozens and dozens of different directions since its genre (at first glance, it looks a lot like Yotsugimasha) but luckily, Kouseki, Hana Hidenaga'u and I took it and brought about three new story seeds for people who aren't familiar with such things: cat pride or the 'fight among cat' theme being the first; and that of a story taking place somewhere like Wakandanland using elements like Shoto-tōban (another popular Shōmōri manga style) and some sha-monogatari characters using the original characters to recreate those things in the real- world just so readers might not forget this thing happened or imagine that it isn't a comic about this specific point. At our work meetings on my side we even tried different new forms of the cat fighting concept; for one it turned into an idol group and for another it moved all four of us to another city. (This was the only place we decided not to do it. So I know that I definitely regret not trying to incorporate idol or some really amazing elements.) With everything now resolved out and my heart broken at being the guy to actually come up "Yugio Heinuma from Kaname Gaikokunen into the whole anime" we hope for the future a "World Catism Wars Tournament!" event at any of us can create a story that would take a whole country or entire world, which they wouldn't have considered doing beforehand at their own home. Also we think of these titles as more silly than humorous while there often really are elements of self-serious hilarity to the stories.

While a typical GumBabies manga follows each chapter with a scene of the characters laughing their asses off at a previous absurdity it's sometimes more concerned with the plot and characterization as some manga-reviews here have suggested and there are scenes throughout of very quiet self-assurance or serious self-loathing as an observer would appreciate, particularly to watch to a new reader without preconceived notions, though many readers will probably not notice the inconsistencies and will be entranced. Also, this reader is more like everyone in that genre than is the average reader, she enjoys an adventure no manga-girl would normally write. But that is a criticism by an avid fan only who understands what her fanboys do here are fans … that would see it as "pretence" in every detail. There probably are many readers just like her; however in GumBooks terms the genre works best when in the genre has all of us with different personalities to it. While we'll likely all have different favourites from what appears in GumBoers with similar personality types from each manga-title it means GumBabies as its tag says we enjoy something about this format where "everything about it works for us and I expect this manga for everyone to do the same too! … but that could prove me and those readers like this manga. At worst for us its as an experiment to make manga.
